  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Who are the courses suitable for?

Anyone can contribute to reducing stigma and increasing resources around mental health. This course is an ideal starting point for communities, organisations or workplaces to initiate a conversation about mental health or top up on knowledge about key themes. You do not need any previous experience or knowledge.

The level of training you may wish to undertake will vary depending on your role, position or responsibilities. If you have regular encounters with people in distress working for a service, HR team or line manager for example, the 2 day may be best for you. If you simply want to find out more about mental health then the 1/2 day may be helpful.

As a service or organisation you may want to consider who needs what level of training. For example, everyone needs some awareness - 1/2 day, line managers need to know how to respond helpfully - 1 day and HR managers or pastoral staff need a more in depth knowledge - 2 day.

If you work with young people you may be interested in the MHFA (Youth) training.
